Posted on April 4, 2012 | 1 CommentKennewick School Board Meeting March 28, 2012 Section 1: What transpired Personal comments (based on my Leadership WSSDA training) in Italics Section 2: What was not included Section 1 Present were school board members Dawn Adams, Brian Brooks, Ben Messinger, and Maricarmen Garza (student). KSD staff: Dave Bond (Superintendent), Vic Roberts, Chuck Lybeck, Bev Johnson-Torelli, Jack Anderson, Greg Fancher, Linda Tucker, and Lorraine Cooper. Van Cummins, all three high school athletic directors, athletic coaches and an expanded room full of winter athletes, Kennewick Education Association representative and several members of the public were also present. Two school board members were absent. More about this in Section 2. The meeting was called to order at 5:30 PM by president Dawn Adams who led the Pledge of Allegiance. -

Posted on January 1, 2012 | 1 CommentKennewick School Board Meeting December 14, 2011 Board members present: Dawn Adams, Heather Kintzley The meeting was called to order at 5:30 PM by President Dawn Adams who led the Pledge of Allegiance. The first order of business was administering the Oath of Office to the three newly elected directors, Ben Messinger, Ron Mabry, and Brian Brooks. The oaths were administered individually by Superintendent Dave Bond. The Agenda was changed to accommodate the large number of students and coaches who attended for the Fall Sports Recognition. All three high schools had teams that participated in State level competitions. For Southridge, Dive, girls’ Cross Country, Football and girls’ Soccer reached that level. Business: Interim school board member Brian Brooks was sworn in to serve until November Student school board representative Maricarmen Garcia was sworn in to serve this school year Kathy White was elected to serve as KSB legislative representative I addressed concerns over the interim appointment of a school board candidate. Superintendent Dave Bond and Kathy White replied assuring that any parent concerns will be remediated as needed.
