  • Kennewick School Board Meeting                                                 January 25, 2012                                                 Section 1: What transpired                                                 Section 2: What was not included  Section 1 Present were school board members Heather Kintzley, Brian Brooks and Ben Messinger.  KSD staff: Dave Bond (Superintendent), Ron Williamson, Gregg Francher, Vic Roberts, Chuck Lybeck, Jack Anderson, Linda Tucker, several Sodexo employees Absent: Dawn Adams, Ron Mabry   The meeting was called to order at 5:35 PM by Vice-President Heather Kintzley who led the Pledge of Allegiance.   Communication from Parents, Staff and District Residents:  None   Consent Items:  Minutes of1/7/12 retreat,1/11/12 meeting, Personnel Actions, Payroll and Vouchers, Budget status for11/30/11 and12/31/11, Letter of Intent to apply for Energy Operational Savings Project Grant, Superintendent’s 2012-15 Contract, one Travel Request.  Motion to accept by Brian Brooks and seconded by Ben Messinger. Passed unanimously.

  • Kennewick School Board Meeting      October 12, 2011    5:30 PM       Board members present:  Dawn Adams, Heather Kintzley, Lynn Fielding, Brian Brooks, Maricarmen Garcia                                   Absent:  Kathy White   Business: Superintendent Dave Bond reported – Battelle Pacific Northwest Laboratory has published a book about the progress of Delta High School.  Copies were presented to board members. About 1000 Kennewick high school students were tested on the PSAT today KSD’s LaPierre property did not sell due to zoning issues.  KSD will work to resolve the zoning problem and offer the property for sale again. MAP testing is being done in first and second grade for the first time in Kennewick schools.  Scores will be reported at the October 26 board meeting.  Kennewick has dropped DRA testing. Kennewick’s second annual Report to the Community was held at the Administration Center on Friday, September 30. ...

  • Kennewick School Board Meeting      September 28, 2011    5:30 PM       Board members present:  Dawn Adams, Heather Kintzley, Kathy White, Brian Brooks, Maricarmen Garcia                                   Absent:  Lynn Fielding  Business: Policy No. 3560 Students: Student Clubs was considered first because approximately 200 community members were present to witness the board’s review of this issue.  After nearly an hour the board voted to grant equal access to school facilities to non-curricular clubs.  See details below.     Superintendent Dave Bond noted that Governor Gregoire has called a special legislative session to consider a likely state budget shortfall of $1.5 billion.  Schools might face a mid-year budget cut. School board candidate Uby Creek presented information to the board about some school board candidates electioneering on school campuses during school open houses.  This is in violation of Public Disclosure Commission guidelines.  The board took no action.
